Lucas Paim
My Journey with Art
My name is Lucas Fernandes Paim, and my journey in art began back in the 90s, when I’d spend hours completely absorbed in anime like Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball Z, and Pokémon.
Since I was a kid, drawing was always part of my life — evolving from simple sketches inspired by those fantasy worlds into something much bigger.
But over time, I actually stepped away from drawing. I focused on other areas — I studied computer science, industrial mechanics, and worked in those fields for a while, but deep down, I knew that wasn’t it, something was missing, I felt that I was meant to do something more creative, something more connected to who I really like to do.
In 2011, I got my first tattoo at the age of 18, aaaaaand it was love at first sight. the noise of the coil machine, the smell os ink, the pain (yeah, really hurt), thay moment brought everything back, i became obsessed with this incredible form of art, even if just from the outside.
In 2014, I started a degree in Graphic Design. I graduated and worked as an illustrator and designer for several years. But even then, I knew that tattooing was the path I wanted to follow.
In August 2018, I fully committed — I quit my stable job thinking I’d be doing 5, 10, maybe 15 tattoos right away… but nope — I didn’t even make 30 bucks at first. Turns out, life isn’t always strawberries and sunshine. Still, I stuck with it. Learned, struggled, adapted and kept going, when it finally became real: my first tattoo, Sanji’s flag from the anime One Piece, this is my first 35 bucks. I was so happy. Not because of the money, but because I knew I was finally taking a real step toward what I truly wanted.
From 2018 until the end of 2023, I worked in several studios, where I learned from amazing people who became my friends — and some even family.
2024, I made a big dream come true: I opened my own private studio and art space — INK Now.
Today, with nearly a decade of experience, I bring a solid art background to everything I do.
I don’t limit myself to just one style. I’m most connected to blackwork and sketch, but I enjoy exploring and adapting the visual language to fit your idea.
We talk, we build it together — and I help turn what’s in your head into something real and honest on skin.
